Travel Photo of the Week – Guadalupe, Panama

Weekly Travel Photo - Guadalupe, Panama
Guadalupe, Panama

Guadalupe was one of our favorite places in Panama!  The scenery was just stunning as you can obviously tell by this photo!  We decided to take a stroll one morning through the countryside and these vistas surrounded us.  The other thing we loved is it is a bit off the beaten path.  It is the start of the Quetzal trail, as well, but unfortunately about a week before we arrived the trail had been washed out.  It is also just a few miles from La Amistad National Park which is well worth the visit.

  •  How to get here: Fly, drive, or bus from Panama City to David.  From David, bus or drive to Guadalupe.  Or walk to Guadalupe from Boquete on the Quetzal trail!
  • Where to stay: We stayed at Los Quetzales and loved it.  They have everything from dorms to suites to chalets and a common room with a fantastic fireplace!
  • Tip: Bring a raincoat or a poncho – it’s this green for a reason!  Also plan on taking a taxi to La Amistad National Park – we tried walking, but realized it is much farther than we thought to the entrance!

Have you been to Guadalupe?  What about other places in Panama?
