A couple of days in Uruguay

While we were down in Brazil we had the good fortune to take a trip to Uruguay.  We really enjoyed the days we spent in Montevideo and would love to go back and experience the country a bit more.  The airport was an incredible piece of architecture, shaped like a bending wing.  The inside was stunning with big planters and old planes hanging from the ceiling.  All of the airport taxis are white Mercedes station wagons, so that was pretty cool (the regular taxis are pretty ghetto though!).  We also learned that the red wine in Uruguay can be excellent and was quite affordable (especially compared to Brazil!)  We had a couple of really good meals, enjoyed downtown and strolling along the waterfront. The city has really neat colonial style buildings and we hopped on a city tour bus to get a good, albeit quick, look at the rest of the city attractions.
