Barbados

Barbados 043

Way back in time, before we had this blog keeping track of our travels, we took a trip to Barbados for a wedding.  As far as I’m concerned, destination weddings at all inclusive resorts are the way to go!  We rarely stay at them as we prefer booking accommodations with kitchens but it was for a wedding and the options are kind of limited on a small island!  And if you’re wondering, it was not for Tiger Wood’s ill fated wedding.

Since the island is small, having a beach front resort to call home for a few days is pretty key.  Ours was near a turtle habitat which made for some great snorkeling! I also managed to get Shani in the water and surfing with some surf instructors.

There are, of course, island tours and shopping in Bridgetown as well as scuba diving and sport fishing.  The island is famous for Mount Gay rum and they offer tours which we went on.  I thought it was fascinating and it culminated in a rum tasting. Until that point in my life I did not know there were sipping rums but there are and they are very nice indeed!Barbados 133
